On Sunday our lads made the long journey to st Mary’s for the 1/4 final match. St Mary’s got off to the better start, But the lads rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in and we where soon rewarded with a goal. When poor Nathan Reilly pick up a nasty knock and had to come off. With 15 against 14 st marys started to get ahead. Cian and Sean put in huge runs around the middle of the pitch and great support for Ben Grassick. Things were going great when bad luck struck again and poor Daragh received a very harsh black card. It wasn’t long till half time came. And the lads got a chance to get themselves reorganized for the second half.
And they they took full advantage of the break as they came out blazing with Alex getting the score board rocking quickly followed by Ben. With a tackle change with Conor on the big number 8 we soon started to starve their scoring changes and some great saves from Dylan made it even hard for them to score. And as the battle raged on and Nathan shaking off his earlier knock and back in the game we really started to get rolling. But unfortunately the clock was against is and st Mary’s took the win and are deservingly through to the semi and we wish them all the best.
The club couldn’t be more proud of the lads and it’s great to be back on the championship scene. And looking forward to next year. And thank you to the traveling masses who came out to give us there support. It just proves we are more than a club we are family.
