Club Notes

NDG U9s had a narrow defeat to Garristown on Sat great numbers down, well
done to all our new players who did so well on their debut Man of the
match Cian Grassick. U10 boys had a good win away to Fingal Ravens winning
32 points to 15 with some great football being played, Man of the match was
Ciarain Heavey with some well taken skill points, most improved was Dylan
Bennet. Well done to Mark Cooper and Martin Doyle on a very well run and
successful Easter Camp, the kids had a ball, thanks to Barry Cahill for
coming out and chatting to the kids.
U14 girls Feile team had a good run out v Castleknock on Sunday with
several good performances on the day, best of which were from Karla Ong,
Asho, and Katie Grassick, thanks to Castleknock for a great game, best of
luck in the Feile next Saturday girls we are all behind you. Well done to
Lauren Buckley who played full forward for the Dublin U14 Ladies team on
Sat in their great win over Laois, Lauren contributed with a personal hall
of 3-1, Lauren becomes the first Dublin player to represent our club, we
are all very proud of you Lauren. All training back to normal after Easter
break with all teams except nursery now moving out side.

Club Notes

The Na Dubh Ghall U9’s won by 4 goals – 5 points and 2 skill points to 5 points against Fingal Ravens, best for NDG was Jamie Craig. U13 girls had a narrow win over a very good Perigrines team in Hartstown, best for us was Karla and Clareese. Well done to Na Dubh Ghalls very own Katie Grassick, Emma Dowling and Lauren Cuthbert all members of the Dublin Thunders cheer-leading team who took an incredible 2nd place at the world championship in Florida on Saturday, they add this to the Irish title they won before Christmas. Club Notes

Our Nursery went out on a cold Saturday morning to play St. Monica’s at Edenmore, they went onto play two fine games with some excellent football on display. NDG came out on top in both games with great team performances by both our teams that all players get mom awards this week, thanks to Monica’s for hosting the games. The NDG U9 hurlers played some fantastic hurling in beating St. Pats of Palmerstown by 6 -1 to no score. Mom for NDG was Robert O’Connor, special thanks to St. Pats for the loan of a couple of players. U10 boys played a great game of hurling against St. Monicas running out victors with a score of 8 goals & 2 pts to 3 goals, mom Kalum Meade and most imp David Farrelly. U13 boys had a great victory against a tough Ballyboughal side, great team performance. Special mention for Patrick Mongan and Ciaran Cullen who had great debut games, mom Jake Kenny. U16 boys played Good Council on Saturday and had a good win, Captain Mark Durran, Danno and Jonnie all played very well. Well done to Lauren who made her debut for Dublin U14 ladies team Vs Kildare on Saturday. It was a great win for the girls, well done to you all. The Nursery played two good games of football on Saturday morning with a good showing from our young footballers in both games, thanks to Scoil Ui Connall for arranging the games. U9’s drew 3-11 with Binn Eadir, good performances from NDG with Nathan Bruen best for NDG. U10 boys had a good win away to Ballyboughal on Saturday, fine weather was matched by fine football with Craig Kavanagh man of the match and congrats to Dylan Burke on a great first game for the Dark Strangers. A little bit of history was made on Sunday when our first ever Minor team was beaten away to Castleknock, a rather depleted team mad the best of the match. A great win for our U11 girls on Saturday in their first league match, all played very well with Katie Grassick player of the match. U15 girls got the season off to a great start with a 12 point victory, great team performance, Lauren and Lisa the girls of the match. Thanks to the girls from the U13’s who played with us. Congratulation’s to our U7 nursery hurling team which placed 2nd in the indoor hurling tournament in Gormanston. This week they had a superb win against Rathoath with outstanding displays by Alan Lawless and Cian Donnelly but great credit to every member of the team and all players deserved man of the match award this week. Our u9 team finished their tournament with a 5 – 1 win finishing in winning fashion with excellent performances by all with Cian Grassick and Jack Kennedy best for NDG. Well done to all the players on their efforts for the past 6 weeks. On Saturdays the U9 lads went down 1 – 0 Vs O’Dwyers, despite the reverse a very good performance by NDG with Sean Walsh MOM. The U10’s played some good hurling on Saturday with some great individual displays of hurling, best for NDG was Luke Doherty with Ben Cuthbert most improved. U7’s were back to winning ways with a 9 – 1 defeat of Raheny, a superb display of hurling by all the team in Gormanston, with Paul, Nathan and Paddy mom. A narrow defeat for NDG U9’s away to Clontarf Mom for NDG was Jack McGinn, a special word of thanks to Paul and Paddy who stepped up from the Nursery to play and both did brilliantly. U9 lost to Skerries Harps by 5 – 0 Mom was Cian Grassick. U10s had a great win with a great game of football with the whole team as players of the match, well done lads. U10’s were unlucky in Gormanston but played well, well done to the whole team. Great display by our U13 boys getting a well deserved win against Cluain Tarbh, mom James Walsh, top scoring of 3 goals and 3 points by Darren Molloy. U13 girls played a friendly V Templeogue Synge Street with Katie and Laragh the stand out players. Lotto numbers 1, 7, 13, 28 no winner next weeks jackpot €6,300.

Club Notes

Our condolences are sent to the Burke family on the death of Mary Burke, mother of Minor coach Eddie and Grandmother of U16 players Karl and Jason. Mary and husband Richie were great supporters of Craobh Chiarain and both worked tirelessly for the club through the years, Richie being a member of the great 70’s team. Congratulations to Derek Kenny and his partner Amanda on the birth of their new baby Paddy Jnr. U7’s put up a fine performance on Sunday in Gormanston unfortunately they faced a very strong lusk team and went down 4 – 1, all played very well with Adam Balmer doing very well on his debut and Sean Elliot mom. The U9 football season resumed on Saturday away to Erin go Bragh, Good showing for first match back with Eoin Kelly mom for NDG. On Sunday in Gormanston we were beaten by Maddock Rangers with Jamie Duggan mom. U10’s started off the football where they left off with a win V Man O War first game back, the lads did brillant. Thanks to Joe of Man o War who togged out for NDG, whole team were MOM. Hurling the boys lost 4 – 2 to Ratoath on Sunday at Gormanston, good if a little rusty hurling display with Killian Farrelly MOM. U13 girls had a good run out against Na Fianna great performances all over the park, for NDG player of the game Alex Nestor. Well done to Lauren, Stacey, Zoe and Chloe who did our club proud at the U14 Dublin trials at the weekend. Lotto numbers – 3, 6, 21, 32 no winner next weeks jackpot €6,200.

Hard luck to the U7’s who lost out to O’Dwyers in a fanastic sporting match – best for NDG Cian Donnelly, Cian Curley and Anna Bogoslpvskaya. U9’s lost 6 – 1 to Kiltale at Gormanston, mom for NDG was Eoin Kelly. Lotto numbers 9, 17, 23, 29 no winner next weeks Jackpot €6,100. Membership renewal forms should be returned as soon as possible to the club secretary, Joy Bennett, or any Executive committee member.

The Nursery team continued their winning ways with a 9 – 0 victory in Gormanston on Sunday, there was some excellent performances on the day from all players but Ciaran O’Daly, Nathan Huges and Darragh Heavey giving mom displays, well done lads. On Saturday our U13s put in a superb display against St. Pats with top scoring for NDG by James Fisher of 4 goals 5 points, and an outstanding display from James Walsh for mom award. The U16’s beat Ballyboden St Endas by 6 points after being behind 12 points at half time, a rouseing second half display and excellent team work made all the difference with Jonnie Costello and Jordan O’Mahony the stand out performance.
