A narrow defeat for NDG U9’s against Binn Eadair in a brilliant game of football for both teams, mom for NDG was James Duggan. Special thanks to Paddy, Sean and Nathan from the U8’s for togging out for us and to all the parents who showed up and gave tremendous encouragement, it was much appreciated. Training for U9’s has changed to Wednesday at 7pm Nesains, Hurling this week. Many thanks to Scoil Ui Chonaill for a very well run and enjoyable tournament on Sunday. Our girls had a great afternoons football winning the shield. A big thank you to Barbara for her organisation and hospitality.
Many thanks to Garristown for accommodating U7 & U8 football teams on Saturday morning, 2 great matches best for NDG Adam Balmer and Ciaran Bolger. U10 boys played in a blitz in Man O war on Saturday with NDG finishing the 3 games unbeaten, winning 2 and drawing 1 game. Thanks to the 3 teams for some of their players, mom Karl McMahon. Congratulations to Ciaran, Adam and Karl who will be representing their school in Croke Park in early December. Well done to Emma Lawless who played on the Dublin U15 development panel V Laois and to Ciara Lawless and Niamh Ward who made their Dublin debuts on the U13 development panel.
From the Committee and members of Na Dubh Ghall we are sorry to hear of the Death of Michael Duffy, Grandfather of our fellow coach and committee member Laura Duffy and we extend our sympathy to all his family. Ar dheis lámh Dé go raibh a anam usal. U8’s – fantastic victory over Trinity Gaels by our U8 hurlers, great performance by all. Best for NDG Jamie Burke, most improved Cian Curley. U9’s put up a brilliant performance against Ballyboden, mom Nathan Bruun, a big thanks to the U8’s for all their help. U10’s a great game of hurling by both teams with NDG losing but it was a great team effort. Most improved Davis Karnes, thanks to the U9’s who togged out after their own game, training as usual.
On Saturday morning the Club organised a U8/U9 blitz between NDG, Garristown and Fingal Ravens, and played on the main pitch at Innish Fails grounds in Balgriffin. All clubs had two teams participating and each team played 3 matches. It was a fine morning and the football on display was a very good standard, the future looks good for all 3 clubs with the caliber of players on show. Thanks to Garristown and Fingal Ravens for traveling out and to Innish Fails for the use of their facilities. U15 girls beat a very strong Clan na Gael to get through to the Shield Final well done girls. Check with Sarah for details of venue etc.
U8 boys had a great victory over Beann Eadir on Saturday morning, some great hurling on show, mom for NDG was Sean Elliot with Anna most improved. Our U9 boys put up a good performance but lost to a very strong Good Counsel team, there was some good performances from all players with Cian Grassick mom for NDG. Great win for the U11 girls in the play offs to secure a semi final place, player of the match for our girls was Gemma Sheridan. U13 girls lost their semi final V O’Dwyers after extra time on Saturday, 3 bad injuries to key players was costly but the girls were superb and worked their socks off, well done girls. Our U15 girls team play their semi final on Wednesday night at 7.30 in Clan na Gael, support needed and appreciated, best of luck girls.
Great victory V St. Margarets for NDG U8’s, most improved for NDG Jamie Burke, player of the match Annastasia, great goals scored by Paddy, Scott and Ben. Training Wednesday 6 – 7pm St Neasains. NDG U9 boys lost by 16 to 12 pts against Binn Eadair, a fantastic 2nd half performance almost saw them close a 13 pt deficit, mom for NDG – Paul Nestor. U15 girls had an amazing win over Castleknock, playing fantastic sporting football. Well done girls every single one of you were brilliant. On Sunday U11, 13 & 15 girls played against each other with some great football on display, well done girls. All training indoors from now on in the gym at St Neasains – Monday U9/U10 6 – 7pm, Tuesday U11/U13 girls 6 – 7pm, Wednesday Nursery 6 – 7pm, U13 boys 7 – 8pm, Thursday U15 girls 6 – 7pm.
